20 Questions
One person thinks of a thing; the other asks up to 20 yes-or-no questions to guess it. Start broad (“is it alive?”) and narrow down.

Built into Chatingly
Every game is two-player and real-time, synced next to the video. Tap a game for its rules and strategy.
Why games
Most random video calls end in the first minute, usually right after “hi, where are you from?”. Not because the other person is boring, but because neither of you knows what to say next. A game fixes that: it gives you something to do together, something to react to, and a reason to stay for one more round.
Each game suits a different mood. Tic-Tac-Toe and Rock Paper Scissors take seconds. Connect Four is a proper duel. Draw & Guess puts you on the same team. This or That and Two Truths & a Lie are really conversation starters dressed up as games: you learn more about someone in two minutes than in ten of small talk.
No app needed
Calling a friend, a partner or family? These work on any video call app with nothing but your voices, a pen, or the chat box.
One person thinks of a thing; the other asks up to 20 yes-or-no questions to guess it. Start broad (“is it alive?”) and narrow down.
Take turns asking impossible choices, like “would you rather talk to animals or read minds?”, and defend your answer.
Pick a letter. Both of you write a name, a place, an animal and a thing starting with it, as fast as you can. Unique answers score more.
Sing a line of a song; the other person sings a song starting with the last letter of yours. Whoever gets stuck loses the round.
Act out a movie, song or action without speaking while the other person guesses. The camera frame makes it harder, and funnier.
Hum the first few seconds of a song; no words allowed. Your partner names it. Harder than it sounds.
Say a word; the other person replies instantly with the first word it makes them think of. Hesitate for three seconds and you lose.
Build a story together, one word each, in turn. It goes off the rails within a minute, which is the point.
Take turns saying something you've never done; if the other person has done it, they tell the story. Keep it friendly with strangers.
Each grab the nearest interesting object and tell its story in 30 seconds. Great with someone in another country.
Each write five questions about your own country or city. Whoever answers more of the other's correctly wins.
Type a movie title in emojis in the chat. The other person guesses it. 🦁👑 is too easy; make them work.

During a call, open the Games tab and pick a game to send an invite. When your match accepts, the game opens next to the video for both of you. Either of you can quit at any time.
Yes. All six games are free, with no sign-up, no coins and nothing to download.
Chatingly matches you with strangers at random, so you can't call a specific friend. For friends, use the games in the second list on any video call app.
