How to play This or That on a video call

  1. Send an invite

    During a call, open the Games tab and pick the game. Your match gets an invite on their screen.

  2. Pick fast

    Seven pairs, one at a time. Tap your choice; you see theirs once you've both picked.

  3. Get your score

    At the end you see how many picks matched, as a percentage.

  4. Argue about it

    From “basically soulmates” to “total opposites”. Pick one you disagreed on and defend it.

How to play This or That

This or That is a quick-fire question game: someone offers two options and you pick one, no “both” and no “neither”. It's the fastest way to learn what someone is like, and it works with friends, on dates, in class, and especially with someone you just met on a video call.

Play it out loud on any call: take turns reading a pair from the list below and answer at the same time on a count of three. On Chatingly, the game picks seven pairs, you both tap your answers, and it shows how alike you are at the end.
